Florida Process Service FAQ

Call us now 863-377-6007

Frequently asked questions

Central Florida process servers frequently asked questions.

What rules or laws apply to my process service?

When attempting to service process, we will ALWAYS serve documents according to the laws rules of the jurisdiction where the documents are issued. Florida court rules do not apply to service of out-of-state documents. One exception to this, is Sunday service. We do not serve Sundays, as it is against Florida law to attempt any process on Sunday, without a specific court order.

Example: Client sends us New York Summons for service in Winter Haven, Florida. We will use New York rules when serving this document. Florida rules do not apply since the documents were issued from a court in the State of New York.

Will you attempt my service on a Sunday?

We do not serve any court documents on Sunday. The State of Florida prohibits service of process on a Sunday without a specific written court order allowing such.

How will I receive a return of service?

If your case is issued in a Florida court, unless specifically requested, we will complete a non-notarized return of service or non-service. Florida courts do not require notary on returns of service executed by a Certified or Special Process Server. We will electronically file returns of service with the court upon a successful completion of service. You can obtain a copy of return from our online system at any time using your login.

Non-serve returns will not be filed electronically with the court, unless you specifically request us to do so.

Out of state cases requiring notary of affidavit will be scanned and e-mailed to client at the completion of service. We will send a hard copy via USPS as well. If you require a hard copy via courier (example: FedEx, UPS, DHL, or similar), we will charge an additional fee.

How can I submit documents for service?

We accept documents via submission through our website, via e-mail, or via had-delivery, UPS, or courier.

We will accept electronic payment via our website, or via Cheque or Money Order.

What happens if the person I need served no longer lives at the address I provide?

We utilise industry leading tools for skip tracing individuals we need to locate for service. We are extremely successful in locating even the most hard-to-find defendants or witnesses.

If we are unable to locate the defendant or witness at the address provided, we will skip trace and advise you if we have located a probable new address. We will then proceed to that address to attempt service upon your approval and payment of a new fee for service.

Do you require prepayment?

We require prepayment from all clients with the exception of Florida Attorney firms or other clients who have a pre-arranged agreement with our office.

Please contact us for more information.

How much does it cost to serve my case?

Prices for service vary based on several factor: The county for which the service address is located, speed of service required (routine, priority, same-day rush),

We are not always the cheapest process server, however we believe our process service agents should be paid to properly work a case, and we believe QUALITY always trumps QUANTITY. When you hire us to serve your documents, you will see that we exhaust all resources, and work each and every case fully, never cutting corners.

I need a process server outside your service area. Can you help?

We are the last process server you will ever need, anywhere in the United States or Canada.

We have built a network of the BEST, most reliable statewide and nationwide process servers available. We are always watching, to ensure they handle your case with the same high standards we would. We will take responsibility for your service in these situations, as if we were handling it ourselves. The buck stops here.

How will you keep me up to date on the status of my cases?

Our office utilises a state-of-the-industry software package, which provides our clients with up to the minute status information. You can login via our website to access the status information on every case we are working, or have worked for you.

You are also able to download, and print affidavits, returns, documents, invoices, and more for each case we have closed for you.

Contact our office here to request a login user name and password for this portal.

I have a subpoena which requires a witness fee. Can you help?

es, we can provide a cheque to the witness on your behalf. We offer this as a client convenience, and do charge a service fee to provide.

For more information on how to calculate witness fees, CLICK HERE.

What if I have multiple addresses for a defendant or witness?

Our quote is for ONE defendant at ONE address. If you have multiple addresses for someone, please advise in the QUOTE REQUEST, and we will discuss options.

Please note that whilst we do offer discounts for multiple defendants or witnesses at one address, when they can be subserved, we do not allow the transfer of attempts between addresses, or defendants.  Our service agents are paid per person served, and per address.

I have a court date coming up very soon. Can you help?

We have three levels of service available to handle most any deadline, especially upcoming court dates.

For best information, and so we are fully aware of what you are needing, please give us a call or send us a message and let us know. We will call you to discuss this one-on-one. We take pride in beating deadlines, and will do everything we can to ensure your documents are served on time.
